Proposed network topology and design

Proposed network topology and design (based on shop lot sized).

• Networking devices

       · Router

  • Model: ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000, Netgear Nighthawk XR500, or similar

  • Functions: Connects to the internet, manages traffic, provides Quality of Service (QoS)

·  Switch

  • Model: Cisco SG350 series, Netgear ProSAFE GS724T, or equivalent managed switches

  • Functions: Central hub for connecting all devices, supports VLANs for network segmentation

· Wireless Access Points (APs)

  • Model: Ubiquiti UniFi AP AC Pro, TP-Link EAP245, or similar

  • Functions: Provides Wi-Fi coverage throughout the gaming cafe

·  Centralized Gaming Server:

  • Custom-built server with high-performance CPU, ample RAM, and SSD storage

  • Functions: Hosts game instances, manages user accounts, stores game data

• Topology

Due to the space of the shop lot (15’ x 25’), a simple star topology will be employed. All gaming stations will be connected to a central switch/router, which will also connect to the internet gateway and other network devices. Below is an example of star topology.

A Star topology is a type of network topology in which all the devices or nodes are physically connected to a central node such as a router, switch, or hub.

• Communication media

Cat6 Ethernet cables will be used to connect the gaming stations to the central switch/router. Wi-Fi will be available for customers who bring their own devices or for non-gaming purposes.
